Elizabeth Taylor met her second husband in London 1952, during filming of 'Ivanhoe.' At that time, Michael Wilding was a movie star in the UK. The couple later married on February 21, 1952 in Registry Caxton Hall, Westminster. It was a year after her divorce with Nick Taylor Hilton. At that time, Taylor was 19 years old.

Taylor had two sons from her marriage to Wilding. Their first son, Michael Howard, was born on January 6, 1953. Their second son, Christipher Edward, born on February 27, 1955.
